Seniors Jerald Foster and Mick Stoltenberg have been named candidates for national awards, announced on Wednesday. Foster, an offensive lineman, has been named one of 30 candidates for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes achievements in four areas: the classroom, the community, character and competition. Stoltenberg, a defensive lineman, has been named one of 179 semifinalists for the 2018 William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation.
Foster, a Lincoln, native has played in 31 games in his Husker career, including all three so far in 2018. He is playing this season as a graduate student, after earning his degree in construction management in May.
