KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Troy Dannen remembers the moment as if it were yesterday.
It’s his first time at Bowlin Stadium, and it’s snowing. The game, a contest against Illinois in March 2024, was eventually called off due to weather, but not before more than 1,000 people bundled up and flocked over to watch Nebraska softball attempt to pull off the three-game sweep of the Illini.
“I was like, ‘This is crazy,” Dannen reflected during a wide-ranging interview with the Journal Star on May 24. “It just goes back to the role of the fan and the program.
