Silva Joins Collegiate National Team Staff
Lincoln – Nebraska Associate Head Baseball Coach Ted Silva will be a member of the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team coaching staff this summer, serving as the team’s pitching coach. Oregon’s George Horton will serve as the team’s manager, while the staff also includes assistant coach Jason Gill (Loyola Marymount), bullpen coach Mitch Karraker (Oregon), assistant coach David Pierce (Tulane) and assistant coach Dave Snow.
Silva’s connection to Horton started at Cal State Fullerton, where Horton was an assistant coach and Silva was a star pitcher. The Titans won the College World Series in 1995, with Silva earning the win in the national title game.
