Even if the Nebraska football team loses its next five games, Matt Rhule's job in Lincoln is almost certainly safe for one more season. The same can't be said for a second former Husker assistant who has been fired in the last two weeks. On Sunday, former NU offensive coordinator Jay Norvell joined what is now a list of 10 head coaches who have been fired this season.
Norvell was in his fourth season at Colorado State. The Rams were 8-5 in 2024 but fell back in 2025 and rank outside the top 100 in both points scored and points allowed this season.
