AUSTIN, Texas — Nebraska took a three-point lead on Hannah Whitish’s three-pointer early in the third quarter and led Arizona State by two midway through the quarter. But the Husker women didn’t get another basket for more than nine minutes and fell to the Sun Devils 73-62 Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Arizona State shut down the Huskers and put together a 13-0 run to go up 49-38 late in the third, and stretched the lead to 16 with 7 minutes left. The Huskers could only cut the margin to nine on Janay Morton’s three-pointer with 2 minutes left.
