Red Report: Spielman's recent surge; Riley 11th in Big Ten pay; Foster confident in Huskers

Nebraska redshirt freshman wide receiver JD Spielman not only broke the school’s single-game receiving yards total when he racked up 200 against Ohio State, but he’s also been Tanner Lee’s favorite target over the Huskers’ past two games.

Spielman’s been targeted 27 times and has 17 catches in that span, including 11 grabs on 16 targets against the Buckeyes.

“Most of it is game plan because you don’t know exactly or can’t predict exactly how a game’s going to unfold and who you’re going to throw to the most,” receivers coach Keith Williams said Monday. “In terms of game plan, what plays you like the most going into the game, what plays you feel really good about and what plays you’re going to emphasize, that’s a way you can monitor or determine what way the targets are going to go.
