Husker defensive coordinator Mark Banker said he feels "it benefits everybody" to divide up the coaching of the secondary, with Banker now working with the safeties and Brian Stewart locked in on the cornerbacks.
It's a difference from last year when the corners and safeties were all grouped together in meetings with Stewart.
"We can detail up everybody's assignment, and now you have two people watching four when they're out on the field," Banker said after Tuesday's practice, the second of the spring season.
The coach feels his altered role "enhances" everything. Coaching a specific position is also something he's done more often than not during his career while being a coordinator.
