Rapid Reaction: Frost passionate about playing football in fall; prioritizing player safety; the financial fallout of a lost season

With rumors swirling that the Big Ten may or may not cancel football, Nebraska football coach Scott Frost on Monday delivered a passionate speech in support of the Huskers playing this fall.

On a Zoom call, Frost was straightforward in what he and his players want.

"The players want to play, the coaches want to coach," Frost said in his opening remarks. "We want to represent the University of Nebraska."

Frost estimated that Nebraska could lose $80-$120 million if the Huskers don't play football this fall, and the city of Lincoln could lose "upwards of $300 million if we don't play.
