Nebraska defensive coordinator Bob Diaco on Monday night echoed head coach Mike Riley’s sentiment and said he did not realize he was expected to meet with reporters Saturday night after Nebraska’s season-opening win over Arkansas State.
“Communicating for a long period of time about the fall, the season, media, and noodling it, not just communicating and noodling, I was under the impression that I didn’t have to do postgame media,” Diaco said. “That’s what I was told.”
He addressed reporters Monday instead of his normal day, Tuesday, to clear the air after several media outlets – including the Journal Star – criticized his Saturday night absence.
