In a game that got chippy early on, the Purdue Boilermakers got to puff their chests out after a rain delay as they walked-off Nebraska to split the series. Nebraska has been on the other side of these kind of heroics, but in tonight’s game, four defensive errors had as much to do with the loss as the ninth inning homer.
Having clinched a spot in the Big Ten Tournament with yesterday’s win, Nebraska could play a little looser, but they could still improve their seed. In the other dugout, Purdue was officially out of the tournament and played for pride, or to try and mess up Nebraska’s position in Omaha.
