Parrella scores big as Huskers beat out Michigan for D-lineman

With one announcement Saturday morning, Deontre Thomas produced two significant things beyond the obvious.

1) The defensive tackle's declaration that he wants to be a Husker made him the first D-line recruit landed by newest Husker assistant John Parrella.

Oh, you bet some Nebraska fans will linger over that second point a bit with smiles plastered on their mugs this weekend.

The biggest difference for the recruit? Start with Parrella.

"Very great personality, very energetic, that's what I like about him. A Christian man, and he loves this game of football," the recruit told the Journal Star.
