When Carter Nelson surprised Nebraska football fans with pictures immediately following surgery in January, it's fair to say no one expected him to be the talk of the first day of fall camp.
When Nelson had to miss the spring practice session because of that surgery, there were plenty of people who wondered whether he'd be able to contribute to the Huskers this fall. However, last week at Big Ten Media Days, head coach Matt Rhule said the hybrid player was "full go" for practice. On Monday, Nelson showed that he is indeed ready to compete and contribute, and he's beefed up to try to better play throughout the season.
