NU wrestling adds Division II national champion as a transfer

The Nebraska wrestling team is adding an NCAA Division II national champion to its roster.

Isaiah White, who won a DII title at 165 pounds earlier this year, is transferring to NU from Notre Dame College (Ohio). He went 28-2 as a freshman and led the Falcons to a Division II team championship.

White will be eligible to compete for Nebraska in 2017-18 and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

The Oak Park, Illinois, native was the top-ranked wrestler at 152 pounds coming out of high school, according to FloWrestling. White was a three-time state champion for Oak Park and River Forest High School, the same school that produced Jason Renteria, who is an incoming Husker freshman.
