Turns out, making perimeter shots is a good way to beat a zone defense.
Eh, who knew?
Kidding aside, that’s exactly what Nebraska did in defeating Delaware State 75-60 on Thursday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Huskers were 12-of-28 on three-pointers, the most makes in a game under fourth-year coach Tim Miles.
Of course, crisp ball movement and ball sharing played a factor, too.
“I don’t know what the assists were, but it felt like it was always an extra pass to get an open three,” said senior Shavon Shields, who led Nebraska with 21 points, had seven assists and two three-pointers.
