Four former Huskers and two current wrestlers have registered for the World Team Trials next weekend on May 16-17 in Louisville, Ky. The winners of those brackets will earn a spot at Final X — a best-of-three series to determine who will represent Team USA at the Senior World Championships.
Essentially, the World Championships are the Olympics in non-Olympic years — although there are 10 weight classes at Worlds instead of six. In a lot of ways, just making the American team is almost as hard as earning a medal at Worlds.
Nebraska's trio of NCAA finalists — Brock Hardy, Ridge Lovett and Antrell Taylor — will all be in the field.
