Nebraska transfer finally gets his shot as starting quarterback

After three weeks of fall camp, former Nebraska quarterback Richard Torres was named the starting quarterback for his current home, Incarnate Word.

Torres joined the FCS offensive powerhouse in 2023 after transferring out of Lincoln following the first spring practice under head coach Matt Rhule. Since then, the Texas native has bided his time with the San Antonio school, serving as a backup the last two seasons. Now he's ready to take the reins of an attack that has finished in the Top 10 in the FCS in passing over the previous 5 years.
