You hear me talk all the time about who needs to step up over the course of the season. This particular player needs to step up not only during the season, but during spring ball as well. After what was a rough year for the special-teams, kicker Barrett Pickering needs to prove that he can be relied upon.
Let’s be real here. Special teams was a disaster last year for Nebraska football. He missed to the first seven games of the season, and Nebraska football is forced to use a rotation of kickers. Perhaps the most impressive out of those kickers was walk-on Matt Waldoch.
