While Matt Rhule and the football team are still a few weeks away from opening their season, the Nebraska Cornhuskers soccer team officially began the 2025 campaign on Thursday night, and they did it in convincing fashion.
The Huskers downed Southern Indiana 6-0, for its most significant season-opening win since 1996, on Thursday evening. Five different NU players scored in the game, and Kayma Carpenter notched two goals, including what was the eventual game-winner just 1:23 into the match.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers soccer team is hoping that 2025 will be better than last season, after injuries and poor play marred the previous fall.
