Nebraska Baseball Hires Rob Childress As Director of Player Development

Nebraska has hired Rob Childress as Director of Player Development. Childress was Nebraska’s pitching coach under Dave Van Horn, when our beloved Husker baseball program had its greatest period of success, with five NCAA Tournament appearances and three trips to the College World Series.

Childress was fired earlier this year at Texas A&M, where he’d spent 16 seasons after leaving Nebraska when Mike Anderson was hired as head Husker baseball dude. Children went 622-336-3 overall at Texas A&M. The Aggies went to the College World Series twice and were in the NCAA Tournament every season with Childress as head coach, making a Super Regional six times.
