Naval Pilot Ensign John Boosalis (Faribault, MN, Navy, WWII)

Faribault, Minn., native John Boosalis served in the Navy during the Pacific Campaign in WWII as an aviation radioman. In 1943, he spent two days lost at sea and four weeks on a remote island after his plane crashed due to mechanical failure. He continued to serve and completed flight school and became a commissioned pilot in 1945.
