BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Hours after coming up short on the Lincoln gridiron, Nebraska fell to another ranked opponent on the New York hardwood.
The Huskers fought valiantly, but came up short Friday against the 24th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats, 65-61, at the Barclays Center Classic. Junior Tai Webster led the way for Nebraska with 21 points.
Cincinnati shined in the paint all night, outrebounding the Huskers 39-28 with 16 offensive boards. Bearcats senior Octavius Ellis took over in the second half and finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Shavon Shields was the Nebraska’s best player on the floor for most of the second half, but took a while to get going.
