McGowens, Banton Featured on ESPN’s Impact Newcomers List

Lincoln – Nebraska's Trey McGowens and Dalano Banton were featured on an ESPN.com list of Newcomer Impact Rankings released Monday by Jeff Borzello. The list included both freshmen and transfers expected to make an impact on the 2020-21 college basketball season.

McGowens, who was ranked 53rd on the list, was a two-year starter at Pittsburgh before he transferred to Nebraska. The 6-foot-4 guard, who was ruled eligible on Oct. 5, started 32 of 33 games last season for the Panthers, averaging 11.5 points, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He raked in the top 10 in the ACC in both steals (fourth) and assists (10th) in 2019-20.
