He was also reflecting, with a smile on his face, about a lesson he learned on his 99-yard sprint to the end zone in the first quarter against Arkansas State.
That kickoff return with five minutes left in the opening period answered Arkansas State's punt return for a score. When he broke into the clear, Spielman pointed to the NU student section he was running toward as he hit the 40-yard line. Five yards later the hand was back down.
