Jacobson bulks up, prepares for new role

The graphic looks like someone did a really good job with Photoshop. Or maybe turned up all the sliders on a video game character.

Tweeted out by the Nebraska men’s basketball team Aug. 5, the side-by-side photos of sophomore forward Michael Jacobson, taken one year apart, showed Jacobson’s transformation from a fresh-faced newcomer to bona fide Big Ten power forward.

The “Los Huskers” tank top that hangs loosely off his shoulders in the first photo is stretched tightly across his chest in the second. There is definition in his arms. Even his neck looks thicker.

After a freshman season of banging in the paint as an undersized center in an undersized Nebraska lineup that struggled to match the size of its Big Ten opponents, Jacobson knew change was needed.
