A sweep of last-place Maryland combined with UCLA dropping two of three to Northwestern moved the Nebraska Cornhuskers into a 2025 tie for 2nd place in the 17-team Big 10 (USC does not field a softball squad).
However, a loss to the Bruins back in February gave UCLA the tiebreaker and the 2nd seed this weekend in West Lafayette, IN. Nebraska, who still receives a first round bye for finishing in the top four, will play their first game on Thursday at 10am CST against the winner of 6th-seeded Iowa and 11th-seeded Penn State.
Nebraska took two of three against the Hawkeyes and did not play the Nittany Lions this season.
