Huskers Prepare for First Conference Game

Lincoln, Neb.—The Nebraska football team practiced in shoulder pads and helmets for approximately 90 minutes on Tuesday. The Huskers started stretching on the Ed and Joyanne Gass field with the defense moving to the grass field inside the Ed Weir Track. Both the offense and defense practiced on the grass in preparation for Saturday’s game at Northwestern, which will mark Nebraska’s first game on grass this season.

Defensive coordinator Mark Banker addressed the media after practice today and talked about Nebraska’s win over No. 22 Oregon last Saturday.

“The competition was better, speed of the game was faster,” Banker said.
