Huskers, others battle wind on first day of Big Tens

A harsh northerly wind was problematic on the first day of the Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Ed Weir Stadium.

Nebraska freshman Cale Wagner hit the invisible wall of wind on the third turn of the 400-meter dash, his fifth and final decathlon event of the day.

“There’s a few events I wish I would have done a little better in,” Wagner said. “But if it wasn’t for the wind today, I felt pretty dang good.”
