Nebraska golfers Kirsten Baete, Megan Whittaker and Lindsey Thiele captured All-America Scholar awards when the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its annual academic honors on Tuesday, July 5.
Baete, a fifth-year golfer from Beatrice, Neb., and Whittaker, a fourth-year player from Elkhorn, Neb., in 2021-22, joined an elite group of Huskers as a four-time WGCA Scholastic All-Americans. Prior to Baete and Whittaker claiming the 2022 honors, only six golfers in Husker history (Jackie Beste, Allison Stewart, JC Stevenson, Madeleine Sheils, Steffi Neisen, Haley Thiele) achieved four-time WGCA Scholastic All-America status.
