Huskers manufacture series-opening win over Gophers

The Nebraska baseball team went into its weekend Big Ten series at Minnesota looking for a power boost.

Nebraska turned eight hits, one sacrifice fly, three stolen bases and two walks in a 5-3 comeback win over the conference-leading Gophers on Friday in the series opener at Siebert Field in Minneapolis.

Jake Meyers finished 4-for-5 with three stolen bases and his one-out, two-RBI single to right center tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the fifth.

Nebraska (22-14-1, 6-3-1 Big Ten) scored two runs off four hits in the top of the eighth inning to break the 3-3 tie.
