Nebraska football is making a summer coaching shift, with veteran Bob Elliott no longer coaching the safeties and instead taking an off-field role as a defensive analyst.
Mike Riley announced that Scott Booker, who worked alongside Bob Diaco and Elliott at Notre Dame, be promoted to a full-time assistant coaching role, taking over the role of coaching the safeties and special teams for the Huskers.
Booker had been added to the Husker staff as a special teams consultant back in March. While the Irish did struggle last year through a 4-8 season, leading to staff changes, Booker was a full-time coach at Notre Dame the last five years, focusing on special teams and tight ends in South Bend.
