The Huskers kicked off their season with a tournament hosted by the University of Kansas at the Jayhawk Tennis Center on Sunday.
Junior Vivien Sandberg and sophomores Lucy Loy and Ana Carmen Zamburek started play for NU. Sandberg and Loy faced each other in the qualifying round with Sandberg defeating Loy 6-1, 6-4. Carmen Zamburek also played in the qualifying round, defeating her opponent Mariia Hlahola from Belmont University 6-3, 6-4.
On Monday, Sandberg played her second match against junior Isabel Adrover Gallego. Sandberg won the match 6-4, 6-1.
