Lincoln – Shavon Shields became the 13th Husker to join the 1,300-point club and Andrew White III recorded his second double-double of the season, but it was not enough as Nebraska fell to Samford, 69-58, Sunday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Shields scored 14 first-half points on the way to a game-high 25 and White contributed 17 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, but the Bulldogs used an 18-4 run to start the second half to take the lead and did not look back.
A Tai Webster 3-pointer cut the lead to 5 at 50-55 with just under 3 minutes to play, but Matt Rose answered with a three at the other end for Samford.
