I thought it would be a cool idea to pick Nebraska’s all-time best wrestler at each weight. Over the years, the weight classes have changed some, so I’m taking some liberties in filling out this lineup with guys who wrestled close to the current weight classes.
Nebraska has had 12 wrestlers win a total of 13 NCAA titles — just five of them made this dual team — five of them were at 125 pounds or their era’s equivalent, making it the only weight where Nebraska has had more than one NCAA Champion.
If you added up the team points that these ten guys scored at the NCAA Championships in their best seasons (using today’s scoring), it’s 217.
