Husker wrestling bounces back with dominating performance vs. Maryland

Isaiah White’s first-period pin of 165-pounder Brendan Burnham set the tone for Nebraska’s 48-3 win over Maryland in the Huskers' Big Ten home opener on Sunday at the Devaney Sports Center.

White overpowered Burnham, tossed him to the ground and stuck him to pick up the win and bonus points.

“I call that move the he-man,” White said laughing, “You just grab them and throw them over.”

“His core strength, he’s a monster. Not quite as strong as Coach Manning, but he’s getting there,” Mark Manning said laughing as well.

Taylor Venz beat Nick Cappello at 184 pounds by a technical fall in the second period 18-0.
