Husker staff corner: Catching up with Kenny Wilhite

As the Nebraska football team's director of high school relations, Kenny Wilhite can discuss basically any recruiting-related topic with a prospect, having been a prospect himself during the mid-1980s at Oakville High School in St. Louis, and later Dodge City (Kansas) Community College. A tenacious 5-foot-8 cornerback, he earned All-Big Eight recognition at NU in 1991.

I've always wondered this: Other than Nebraska, where else did you consider playing?

"You'll laugh at this, but the University of Pacific."

"Jon Gruden recruited me for Pacific. He was an assistant. Walt Harris was the head coach back then.
