Sam Cotton was on the edge of the circle, distracted. A fellow tight end, a fellow senior, was laying on the field. For a moment Saturday, Cotton's lone concern was not what play was coming next. It was the condition of comrade Cethan Carter.
"The first thing that went through my head was, 'Oh, s---, is Cethan OK?'" Cotton said. "Everyone's trying to huddle up and worry about the next play we're going to run, and I was kind of off to the side of the huddle, poking my head over, making sure No. 11 is OK. And after that, it's just like, we've all got a job to do.
