Husker fans react to first game since Eichorst's firing

Saturday's Husker football game came two days after University of Nebraska-Lincoln athletic director Shawn Eichorst was fired.

"We are not the team we were in 1994 and 1995," said Husker fan Carrie Reitmeier of Gretna. "And people are starting to realize it. Today's crowds are clearly an example of that."

Reitmeier and her husband came Lincoln Saturday morning for the 2:30 p.m. game. She thought there were less people out than she normally sees downtown before a game.

Two out of three games lost so far this season isn't what some fans expected.

"We definitely need a change in the administration to get stuff done," said UNL student Caleb Nigrin.
