Husker draft drought extends another season

The Huskers’ ignominious streak reached 18 years Thursday night as two rounds and 60 picks passed without the big red N appearing on ESPN’s coverage.

Tai Webster, who had a breakout senior season in 2016-17, was projected by a couple websites as a late-second round sleeper, but was not chosen after averaging 17 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game

So Venson Hamilton, taken in the second round with the 50th pick of the 1999 draft by the Atlanta Hawks, remains the last NU player drafted.

Before Hamilton, it was Tyronn Lue going to the Denver Nuggets and getting traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 1998.
