CORVALLIS, Ore. — Ben Miller went hitless against Yale on Friday, leaving him one hit shy of tying Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon for 12th on the all-time career hit list at Nebraska.
The senior first baseman didn’t miss the chance to surpass the Major League Baseball player on Saturday. In his second at-bat, Miller worked the count deep before lining a single to center for his 240th career hit for the Huskers.
In the eighth inning, Miller beat out an infield hit for his 241st career hit.
Gordon, a member of Kansas City’s 2015 World Series champion, collected his 240 hits during his 2003-05 seasons with the Cornhuskers.
