How the Big Ten's new TV deal with Fox, CBS, NBC and Peacock works

Sound the triumphant horns.

You know the ones — the ones inextricably linked to CBS on SEC ever since Lloyd Landesman wrote the unnamed jingle ahead of Super Bowl XXI. Since 1987, the 16-note, goose-bump-inducing tune has introduced CBS’ marquee SEC game on Saturday afternoons.

That changes this fall.

Instead of being associated with LSU-Alabama in the future, the SEC’s de facto soundtrack will migrate to the Big Ten because CBS is now one of the Big Ten’s broadcast partners.

This football season will be the first for the Big Ten's seven-year, multibillion-dollar, multi-pronged partnership with Fox, CBS, NBC and the Big Ten Network, plus NBC’s Peacock.
