DAVID CITY — In this town, where Husker memorabilia adorns a downtown store window, Big Red flags hang from porches and the local salon owner sports Husker-decorated nails, there's little debate over where most folks will be Friday night.

Instead, they’ll be at Memorial Field, just beyond the white pillars that have welcomed visitors to the city park along Nebraska 15 since 1940, cheering on David’s City’s two high school football teams.

“To me, Friday is for high school football,” Robin Meysenburg said this week as she finished lunch at the Northside Café with her husband Bryan and one of their four children.
