Former Nebraska men's basketball assistant coach Craig Smith is the new head man at Utah State, the school announced Monday.
Smith, who recently completed his fourth season as the head coach at South Dakota, was an assistant under current Huskers coach Tim Miles for five seasons at Colorado State before following Miles to Lincoln in 2012.
Smith's hiring puts two former Miles assistants in charge of Mountain West programs.
