Former Husker MJ Knighten Named San Diego Head Coach

San Diego - Forrmer Husker All-American MJ Knighten was named the head coach of the University of San Diego softball team, announced by the school on Friday.

Knighten spent 2019-20 as an assistant coach for at the school before being promoted to the head coach. Knighten is the first Black female head coach of any program at USD Athletics and the youngest active softball head coach in NCAA Division I.

Knighten was a four-year letterwinner for the Huskers from 2014 to 2017. Knighten wrote her way into the Nebraska record books, finishing in the top 10 in 10 different categories.
