Tristen Edwards and Lindsey Walljasper combined for three home runs in leading the Huskers to a 7-2 win against No. 23 N.C. State on Friday in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Edwards, a junior, hit two solo shots while the freshman Walljasper hit a three-run homer to give the Huskers a five-run cushion in the third inning.
Walljasper also led the way in the circle, scattering five hits over six innings while striking out a career-high nine. Senior Regan Mergele continued her strong play as a reliever, pitching a scoreless seventh inning, striking out two.
Edwards, who finished with two hits and three RBIs, got the Huskers on the board with a homer in the top of the first inning.
