After playing its first game last evening, the Huskers had a light day in Rome on Tuesday. After a morning on their own to shop and sightsee, the Huskers spent a portion of their afternoon visiting one of the true wonders of the World in the Roman Colosseum
As the tour bus got in sight of the Colosseum what is normally a very talkative bus went quiet, and you could hear the murmurs of the players as they got their first glimpses of the ancient amphitheater dating back to the first century. Many of the players were awestruck at the sight of the amphitheater that held over 50,000 people and was the home of many events including gladiatorial combats, plays and much more.
