Burkamper, Miller power Huskers to series win

Two guys with not much to show for their recent work got the job done Saturday for the Nebraska baseball team.

Derek Burkamper was strong in his longest outing of the season, and Ben Miller blasted his first home run of the year to lead the Huskers to a 5-1 win over College of Charleston at in front of 3,017 at Haymarket park.

Burkamper went six and two-thirds innings, allowing just one hit — a solo homer to Charleston's Riley Knudsen to lead off the third inning.

The senior right-hander threw 94 pitches in his longest outing of the year, striking out five and walking three while lowering his ERA from 5.
