Senior gymnast Jake Bonnay was named the NCAA Specialist of the Week announced on Tuesday. Bonnay becomes the first men's gymnast to win the award.
The Burlington, Ontario native was rewarded for his stellar performance against Minnesota and Army West Point this past weekend. Bonnay claimed the floor and parallel bars titles while also placing fourth on high bar. Bonnay notched a 14.55 on floor to claim the title and earned his second-highest score of the season. Bonnay also saw a career-high performance on parallel bars finishing with a score of 14.25.
Bonnay helped the Huskers to a first place finish over Minnesota and Army West Point which included season-high scores on vault (71.
