Husker Kirsten Baete defeated former teammate Haley Thiele in the championship of the Nebraska Women's Match Play at Amarii Dunes Golf Club in Axtell on Thursday morning.
Baete, a senior from Beatrice, outlasted Thiele, a 2020 Husker graduate from Wahoo, 5 & 3 in the championship match. Baete's victory completed an all-Husker final four at the 98th Nebraska Women's Match Play Championship.
Baete advanced to Thursday's final with a 3 & 2 win over teammate Nicole Hansen in the semifinals, while Haley Thiele defeated her younger sister and current Husker freshman Lindsey Thiele 1 up.
