Husker men's golfer Caleb Badura shot a Nebraska Amateur Championship record 63 (-9) to storm to the top of the individual leaderboard on Thursday at Lochland Country Club in Hastings.
Badura, a senior from Aurora, Neb., scorched the 7,043-yard, par-72 course at Lochland on a hot day in Hastings with eagles on No. 1 (500-yard, par-5) and No. 18 (547-yard, par-5), surrounding birdies on No. 7, No. 9, No. 10, No. 11 and No. 14, while producing par on the 11 other holes to finish with a record round. He posted a 32 on the front nine and a 31 on the back at Lochland to gain 10 strokes on the tournament leader.
