It appears Luis Alvarado and Scott Schreiber will return to the University of Nebraska for their senior seasons of baseball.

The duo, both taken on the third day of the Major League Baseball draft in mid-June went unsigned as of July 7 — the deadline for MLB teams to sign their drafted players.

Teams had until 4 p.m. July 7 to sign their draft picks with remaining college eligibility.

According to MLB.com reporter Greg Johns, Alvarado, taken by the Mariners in the 13th round as a pitcher, was one of three players in Seattle's top 34 picks who did not sign.
